Zera Metan is active in the northwest of Argentina. Mariano came to Metán in 2007 and was moved by the work among the local population. In 2010 the foundation was established: first with a focus on children — clubs, education and the gospel — because children are precious in God’s eyes. Those who discover this gain a different vision of the future.
That work has grown. In Metán, Mariano and Mónica serve local congregations, lead children’s and community work, and direct the Mission School. In the Netherlands, Stichting Zera Metan is the ANBI-recognised support base: gifts, relationships with churches, and the administrative side. The work stands alongside the local church, not in its place. In mission — and at Zera in particular — unity is growing: people from different denominations and traditions contribute together, each with what he or she has. The team is small. Family, students, volunteers and congregations in the Netherlands and Argentina work together.
